Food for the Forgotten

Now, Exactly what are we doing?

Our group focuses on four main aspects of sharing on campus:

1. The Georgia Tech Community

The organization starts with the Georgia Tech Community.  This community of students, teachers, and faculty work together closely in order to help improve the community of Atlanta and to grow even closer together in each other's company.

2. Transporting the food to a local homeless shelter

Before we can serve any food, members have to collect the food from GT Dining.  Authorized students go around to all of the negotiated food distributors on campus and collect the spare food.  The students will then take all of the donated food to a waiting Groome Transportation bus where the food will then be transported to a local shelter.

3. Serving the food to the homeless

Once the food arrives at the shelter, the students will then help to serve the food to the Atlanta community, not only helping the community but building up relationships as well.  We hope to not only give our food, but to give our professional resources as well.  Clinics will be run by a few of the management professors in order to help these people on their feet.  We encourage and hope that all of the people we help will come back and join the organization which helped them greatly, spreading the Georgia Tech community so that they can help others like themselves.
